Julia will be performing her newest 90 minute comedy show here at the Dead Crow, entitled Julia Sweeney: Older & Wider. This show premiered at Second City Chicago in May 2018. Chris Jones, Theater critic at The Chicago Tribune reviewed the show very positively. He wrote, “Great autobiographical comics need a sense of their own ultimate insignificance, and Sweeney, who is now 58, always has enjoyed a rare ability to stand outside her own self and view her own life as no different than any other character. Older & Wider, maybe. Funnier and wiser, for sure. She puts you in mind of monologists like Spalding Gray, minus the ego.”
